I'm Roy Stevens, the founder of Eagle Card.

Eagle Card is my idea. I realized following an accident involving a friend that there is a need for a card giving medical and medication data, as well as personal and emergency contacts details.

My friend Bob was on the freeway when he was involved in an automobile accident and rendered unconscious, so that he could not advise paramedics of his medication and personal details. Paramedics took Bob, who was still unconscious, to the ER where hospital staff found his driving license to establish who he was. Bob's wife works in a store and was not aware that hospital personnel were trying to contact her. It was 6 hours after the accident that Bob's wife heard the news.

When I heard about Bob's accident and the time it took to contact his wife it made me think ... 'what if I were taken ill or injured away from home, how would I let emergency personnel know about urgent medication as well as informing loved ones of my situation?' The answer was to create a service and the result was Eagle Card. I now carry an Eagle Card in my wallet. Eagle Card is a hardwearing plastic card that has no personal information printed on it so my personal details are secure and remain confidential. The only information on the Eagle card apart from a 12-digit personal Identity Number is the 24/7 toll free number. The toll free number is received by Eagle Card personnel in Sarasota, Florida, who will verify that the caller is a paramedic or member of hospital personnel before releasing my medical and medication data. Eagle Card personnel will immediately inform my emergency contacts of my situation.

Unfortunately accidents can happen to any of us at any time; we could be one block away from home, or 100 miles away, or taken ill on the freeway going to work.

Statistics show that the family of a person involved in an accident or crisis may be unaware for many hours that their loved one has been injured or is in a crisis situation.

The Eagle Card system was developed specifically to work closely with U.S. emergency services to supply vital personal data to the police, paramedics or emergency room personnel in the event of the Card holder being involved in an accident or a life threatening incident.

The Eagle Card system is very simple and incorporates the most up to date online security available. Eagle Card holders are invited to enter their personal contacts and medical/ medication details directly onto our confidential online database. We will send you an Eagle Card bearing a unique personal identification number. In the event of your being involved in an accident or incident the emergency services can call our 24/7 toll free number to access your personal contact and medical information - at a time when this may be critical for the administration of the correct treatment. All personal information is kept secure and is only available to verified emergency services in the event of an accident or personal incident.
